Maria Yohn

 Maria Yohn is the lower school guidance counselor at the Academy. In addition to that role, she also teaches Spanish and library. She grew up in Guatemala City, Guatemala.  Mrs. Yohn has a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy (Elementary School) from the Ministerio de Education de Guatemala.   Before joining the Academy in 2005, she taught and worked in language skills/translation for over 20 years in Guatemala, Louisiana, Ohio, and Alabama. Maria is an active member at Southwood Presbyterian, where she serves in numerous ministries of the church, including Helping Hands and Women & Children at Risk. She also volunteers for Crisis Services of North Alabama and is a Spanish translator for the Mental Health Center. In her (limited) spare time, Mrs. Hall is taking additional college classes. She also loves to travel.   Her favorite Bible verses are Galatians 6:2 and Psalm 143:10.
